Mary Dixon, ASID, (left) was honored in Chicago on June 11 as National ASID President Michael Thomas awarded her with a “Certificate of Appreciation for Distinguished Service to the Society and to the Profession” in front of 200 ASID leaders at the CLC luncheon prior to NeoCon. The award was to recognize Mary’s work on the design community chair’s notebook she put together for our chapter. ASID plans to use it as a template for a leadership manual for chairs in design communities across the country.

Deborah Drury, ASID, designed a tri-city traveling set design for Goldie Hawn who was in the Kentucky area in February 2011 speaking about her life, happiness, and how to get more of it into your life. The multi-talented Deborah also sang at the Pentagon in Washington, DC for a retirement party in October 2010. She sang two A Capella solos, The Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America, in the Hall of Heroes.
